The skeleton is said to represent death, the hourglass symbolizes the swift passage of time, and the spear and bleeding heart signify “no quarter”. This flag design has become a popular visual for many military units, especially within the SEALs, Delta and other high speed cool guy units. This flag has also become iconic with Christian Craighead – the British SF soldier who heroically put his life on the line to save strangers in 2019 during the Kenyan terrorist attack that has become so famous.
